About the Program

On April 5, 2005, history was made when the Executive Board of the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO, representing more than 100 Philadelphia area local labor unions and labor activist organizations encompassing hundreds of thousands of working union families, unanimously approved the PhillyUnions.com Pro-Union Preferred Partners Program and Network as its authorized Buy Union/Pro-Union guide as well as its vendor screening, certification and marketing program. The Program represents a concerted effort to connect union and union-friendly businesses, professionals, etc. with the vast Philadelphia union community.

The Pro-Union Preferred Partners Program is the authorized medium by which certified vendors will be introduced and comprehensively marketed to the Philadelphia area union market.

SUCCESS and INTERACTION through PhillyUnions.com Networking and Meet and Greet Events: Face to Face - Up Close and Personal with area union and business leaders.

All applicants to the program will be screened and certified by the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO and area union leaders to ensure they meet the pro-union standards set forth by the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO, thus providing unprecedented credibility and visibility within the Philadelphia area union community.

1. PHILLYUNIONS.COM Union Leader Networking/Meet & Greet Events
   
   As an invaluable part of PhillyUnions.com benefits, Pro-Union Preferred Partners attend and participate in Union Leader Networking and Meet & Greet Events which are hosted by PhillyUnions.com several times a month featuring union leaders from Philadelphia area unions. These events provide businesses and professionals with unprecedented opportunities to network and connect with area union leaders Up Close, Personal and Face to Face. 2. Discounted Reservations and Sponsorship of Annual AFL-CIO Leadership Conference:
   
   Each January the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO holds their annual Leadership Conference in Atlantic City. This conference is by far the biggest and most attended union leadership event in the Philadelphia area. PhillyUnions.com Pro-Union Preferred Partners receive a significant discount on the opportunity to attend and have a presence at this extremely important event.
   
   
3. Pro-Union Preferred Partner Status Certification and Identification:
   
   In the same manner as a union bug, all approved Pro-Union Preferred Partners will receive the official Pro-Union Preferred Partner logo/graphic ID verification that you may choose to display on your stationary, on your products, and/or on your own web site with a link to our official Pro-Union Preferred Partners page via our Link/Logo Exchange" Feature.
   
   The Preferred Partners ID logo will identify your business, organization, firm, product, etc. to the hundreds of thousands of area union members and families as a certified Pro-Union Preferred Partner.
   
   
4. A listing in the Union Gold Pages located on the PhillyUnions.com web site
   
   Preferred Partners will be listed in our premier online Pro-Union Preferred business directory, The Union Gold Pages, the authorized Buy Union/Pro-Union Guide of the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO.
   
   
5. Placements in Union Member Services Newsletters and General Email Newsletters:
   
   Preferred Partners receive placements in periodic PhillyUnions.com Union Member Services e-newsletters which are dedicated exclusively to promoting the services and discounts provided by our Preferred Partners, as well as in our general email newsletters. These e-newsletters go out to our list of over 7,500 union members and supporters, community and business leaders, local government, press and more.
   
   
6. PHILLYUNIONS.COM Business to Business Networking and Match Making Services
   
   Preferred Partners attending PhillyUnions.com events participate in Face to Face Networking activities with each other to encourage maximum B2B business opportunities.
   
   PhillyUnions.com Business to Business Match Making Service periodically and directly connects participating businesses/professionals for the purpose of generating additional B2B business opportunities.

Preferred Partners Program Membership Levels and Annual Fees:

• Individual/Professional: $650.00 - $750
• Small/Med. Business/Firm: $750.00 - $1000.00
• Small/Med. Corporate: $1500.00 - $2000.00
• National Corporate: $2500.00

Exclusive Partner Status (Available only to vendors in selected categories): A Partner who is the first and only vendor in their business category. The Exclusive Partner pays a premium Program membership fee and must also commit to Diamond or Platinum Event Sponsorship status (See Event Sponsorship information below for details). Exclusive Partnerships are active as long as their sponsorship level of either Diamond or Platinum is maintained.

Sponsoring PUdotcom Union Leader Meet & Greet Events: The premier way to achieve maximum exposure to Philadelphia area unions.

Event Sponsorship Features (Sponsorships include both of the following features):

1. Union Leader Meet & Greet Event Hosting/Sponsorship
   
   Includes an opportunity to host or co-host the private event dinner/cocktail reception at the Union Leader Meet & Greet Event with the attending union leader; the opportunity to distribute and post your promo materials at the event; and the opportunity to give an extended introductory speech to the attending union leader and all attendees. (Includes free entry to the event for yourself and guests.)
   
   
2. PhillyUnions.com Website and E-Newsletter Advertising and Sponsorship
   
   Each union leader honored at a Union Leader Meet & Greet Event receives a "Spotlight" feature story on the PhillyUnions.com home page and in the PhillyUnions.com e-newsletter during the week of their event. Preferred Partners sponsoring the event will receive featured presence and advertisement in the PhillyUnions.com e-newsletter(s) during the week of the event.

Event Sponsorship Guidelines:

• Multiple Partners in different business/professional categories may sponsor the same event. However, only one Partner per business/professional category may sponsor the same event. Sponsorships competed for by Partners in the same business/professional category are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
  
  
• Reserving Event Sponsorships: The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO announces events via the PhillyUnions.com website and email newsletter. A Partner reserves an event by being the first Partner in their business/professional category within the first 48 hours from the announcement of an event (the event reservation period) to submit both email notification and payment in full to PhillyUnions.com for their event selection. Partners are eligible to reserve sponsorships for only one event at a time during the event reservation period. Note: Partners who have already pre-paid for events by purchasing a discount event package (see below), are required only to send email notification to officially reserve sponsorship for an event.
  
  
• Reserving Sponsorship for Multiple Events: At the expiration of the 48-hour event reservation period (the period following the announcement of specific events), Partners will then be eligible to reserve additional events not already reserved by other Partners in their own business/professional category. Again, this is on a first-come first-served basis.
  
  
• Exception for Exclusive Partners: Since, by definition, Exclusive Partners are the only Partner in their business/professional category, they may reserve as many events at a time as they wish.
  
  
• THE BENEFITS OF PURCHASING DISCOUNT EVENT SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES (listed below) are:

     • Save money by receiving a discounted per-event rate
     • At the completion of a Partner's multiple sponsorship package, they may lock in future "individual" event sponsorships at the same per-event rate as their previous multiple event sponsorship package
     
     
  2. Time Effective: Because events are not officially reserved until the sponsorship fee is received in full by PhillyUnions.com, pre-payment makes the sponsorship reservation process easy and automatic by simply being required to send an email notification. This is important when Partners are competing for sponsorship of specific events with other Partners in their own business/professional category.

Discount Event Sponsorship Packages:

1. Diamond Sponsor: Sponsors 40 Events - $8,000 ($200 per Event - Available only to Exclusive Partners.)
   
   
2. Platinum Sponsor: Sponsors 20 Events - $5,000 ($250 per Event - Available only to Exclusive Partners.)
   
   
3. Gold Sponsor: Sponsors 15 Events - $2,625 ($175 per Event)
   
   
4. Silver Sponsor: Sponsors 10 Events - $2,000 ($200 per Event)
   
   
5. Bronze Sponsor: Sponsors 5 Events - $1,125 ($225 per Event)
   
   
6. Individual Event Sponsor: Sponsors Events on an individual basis - $250 per Event (Full Price - No Discount)

Event Sponsorship/Attendance Terms and Conditions:

• All Pro-Union Preferred Partners are eligible to take advantage of any of the above event sponsorship packages.
  
  
• Partners must keep their Program Membership current in order to sponsor Events or to use your pre-paid sponsorship packages.
  
  
• Partners may purchase a new event sponsorship package at any time following the completion of their current package. (Partners may only purchase one package at a time.)
  
  
• All sponsorship packages listed above must be paid in full at time of purchase. Payment plans not available.
  
  
• As in any marketing, promotional, PR or networking situation, membership in the PhillyUnions.com Pro-Union Preferred Partners Program and/or sponsorship of any PhillyUnions.com event do not guarantee business opportunities or relationships with any particular union/union leader. All Program success is on an individual basis.
  
  
• All Program membership fees and event sponsorship fees go towards administration of the Pro-Union Preferred Partners Program and event expenses. No event entrance or sponsorship fees, vendor or Program fees/revenues go to any union or AFL-CIO officials.
  
  
• All Union or AFL-CIO officials attending any PhillyUnions.com event do so on a voluntary basis as part of our Union-Yes Philadelphia Campaign and receive absolutely no fees, gifts, financial compensation or incentives for attending and are not obligated to do business or associate with any particular or specific vendor or sponsor in attendance.
  
  
• No vendor attending a PhillyUnions.com event may offer (and attending union officials will not accept) material or financial gifts, etc. with the intention of illegally obtaining union contracts, endorsements or business sales from any union official.

Labor leaders from over 100 labor unions and labor activist organizations along with close to a million Philadelphia area union members, families and labor activist organizations, etc. will be interested in taking advantage of the discounts and preferred services available from certified union/union-friendly businesses and professionals. Also, countless individuals from the vast Philadelphia area Pro-Union business and professional community will utilize the services to network and do business with one another as well as with the Philadelphia area union community.

Who can and should become a Certified Pro-Union Preferred Partner?

Pro-Union Preferred Partnership is perfect for any union and/or union-friendly person(s), business, professional or organization with a desire to interact with, advertise to and do business with the Philadelphia area union community as well as the pro-union business community.

For individuals or organizations wishing to demonstrate support for the union community but without the need to market products or services, Program Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Why become a Certified Pro-Union Preferred Partner?

There are hundreds of thousands of union families plus countless union supporters and activists living and working in and around the city of Philadelphia, one of the strongest union regions in America. These hardworking union members and their families represent a massive, targeted, loyal, and fanatically pro-union audience. They choose and support union or union-friendly over non-union whenever possible.

Up until now, your means of exposing and promoting your union-friendly business to area unions and their members have been extremely limited. Getting in the door of even a single union and meeting union leaders is very difficult because they are consistently swamped by un-referred solicitors.

Your Partnership Commitment

Your Program membership fee solidifies your Pro-Union Partnership commitment by supporting and helping to sponsor important Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO endorsed events and programs including PhillyUnions.com and the administration of the PPP Program and more. Thus in addition to the benefits you receive, by becoming a Pro-Union Preferred Partner you are further strengthening your relationships and demonstrating your commitment to promoting union standards in the Philadelphia area.

We welcome you to enhance your relationships with the Philadelphia area union community and pro-union business community by applying for membership in the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO endorsed Pro-Union Preferred Partners Program. To get started, use our online application form.

The process is simple. After you complete the application form, your organization will be placed on Pending Status for no more than 5-7 business days while you are screened by the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO and area union leaders to confirm your union or pro-union status. If you are referred by the leadership of a Philadelphia area union or AFL-CIO Affiliate, and/or if you are a known union business operating under a union agreement in a unionized industry, your Pending Status waiting period will be significantly reduced.
