Local 8 of the I.A.T.S.E. represents over three hundred members in the Philadelphia/Camden and Mercer County areas. The local includes in its membership legitimate and regional theater technicians, arena, and amphitheater workers for concerts, audio visual technicians throughout the hotel and convention center industry as well as sound, light and scene shop workers. These skilled technicians work at the Academy of Music, Forrest, Walnut, Merriam, Zellerbach and other theaters throughout our jurisdiction. Stagehands erect the scaffolding and install the stage equipment for all outdoor concerts including the First Union Complex, Mann Music Center, Sovereign Bank Arena, and Tweeter Center. Our members can be found at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and in every hotel and stage throughout the area.
