Welcome to the home page of the Graphic Communications Conference(GCC)/ International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) Local 16-N. GCC/IBT Local 16-N is subordinate to the GCC/IBT Conference. The GCC/IBT Conference is the largest union representing printing and publishing workers in North America. GCC/IBT DC9 Local 16-N for more than a century (GCC/IBT 16-N was chartered on July 5, 1902) has served and protected the rights, living standards and working conditions of its members. Our members and their Families take pride in their union's pioneering achievements in wages benefits and training and in their role of producing top quality newspapers, magazines, commercial and printing packaging and specialty and other products. Local 16-N is also affiliated with GCC/IBT District Council 9 along with Local 14-M, Local 241-M, Local 329-C Local 594-S Local 612--M Local 726-S, Local 732-C and Local 754-S. ATTENTION NON UNION EMPLOYEES: The law says you have the right to join a union. Section 7 of the NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS ACT says: "Employees shall have the right to self-organization, to form join or assist labor organization, to bargain collectively through representation of their own choosing, and to engage in other concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining.." Section 8(a):"It shall be an unfair labor practice for an employer...to interfere with, restrain, or coerce employees in the exercise of the rights guaranteed in Section 7..." Under Section 8 of the National Labor Relations Act, your employer cannot legally punish or discriminate against any worker because of union activity.
